Visible region resolution

2017-03-09

Visible area refers to the area of the screen that can be used to display images in the actual application. Because the size of a CRT display is actually the size of its picture tube. The parts that can be used to display images simply cannot reach this size. Because the frame of the picture tube takes up part of the space. Typically, a 17-inch CRT monitor has a viewing area of about 15.8-16 inches. The 15-inch display has a viewable surface area of 13.8 inches. But for an LCD, the nominal size is basically the size of the viewable area. Borders take up very little space. A 15-inch LCD has a viewing area of about 14.5 inches. That's why LCDS look bigger than CRTS of the same size. So 15 inches is pretty much enough for an LCD.
