Resolution analysis

2017-03-12

Resolution is a very important performance metric. It refers to the number of points on the screen that can be displayed horizontally and vertically. The lines and surfaces displayed on the screen are made up of points. The higher the resolution, the more information you can fit on the same screen. For CRTS that support 1280x1024 resolution, both 320x240 and 1280x1024 resolution can be expressed perfectly. (Because electron beams can be flexibly adjusted.) But its maximum resolution is not necessarily the most appropriate resolution. Because if the resolution of a 17-inch monitor is 1280x1024, WINDOWS fonts will be very small. For a long time, eyes are easy to fatigue. Therefore, the best resolution for a 17-inch monitor should be 1024x768.

But that is not the case with LCDS. The maximum resolution of an LCD is its true resolution. This is the best solution. Once the resolution is lower than the actual resolution (for example, a 15-inch LCD has an actual resolution of 1024X768 versus 800x600 in WINDOWS), there are two display options. First, center display. Only 800×600 points in the middle of the LCD display will display the image. Other unused points will not glow. Keep the background dark. It looks like the painting is shrinking. The other is extended display. This will be applied to every pixel on the screen. But because pixels are prone to distortion. So it will have a certain effect on the display. So in any case, when choosing an LCD, we should pay attention to the resolution is not the bigger the better, but the appropriate use.
