Principle and structure of liquid crystal display

Many things in life are displayed on the LCD screen. LCD screens are indispensable for life, work and entertainment. But how many people know how LCD screens work and what they are made of? Today, Xianheng editor will give you a simple understanding!

Principle of liquid crystal display

The working principle of the LCD screen is very simple. The screen can show the liquid crystal material filling between two parallel plates, and then the arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules material changes the voltage, so as to achieve the purpose of light shielding and propagation. To display images of different hues and interlaced patterns, color images can be displayed by simply placing a ternary color filter between two plates.

LCD LCD display structure

In fact, every LCD screen we see every day has a glass substrate. The glass substrate was extremely demanding. It had to be made using float glass, the surface had to be very flat, and it had to be very thin. The glass substrate must be coated with a conductive layer of indium oxide or tin oxide and must be transparent. This is ITO film in a LIQUID crystal display. The external leads of the glass substrate shall be welded using a special welding method, using conductive strips or tape, which is quite different from the known soldering with tin. Glass substrate is a very precise component, as long as a little damage, glass substrate will be scrapped. So his internal structure is complex and delicate.
