LCD liquid crystal display has what classification?

January 20, 2017

Today, there are various types of LCD on the market. LCD displays have become an important part of our lives. What types are currently on the market? Today xiaobian will take you to know.

1. TN LCD

TN is the most mainstream LCD display mode, widely used in the entry level and mid-range panel. TN panels seen in the market are modified TN+ membrane. Film is compensation film. Used to make up for the insufficient view of TN panel. Because of its high output gray scale, the liquid crystal molecule deflects quickly, which makes its response time easy to improve. Currently, all LCD products under 8ms on the market use TN panels. Overall, TN panel is a product with obvious advantages and disadvantages. It's cheap and has the right response time for games. It has its advantages. In LCD screen classification, TN viewing Angle is not ideal and color performance is not true. This is a distinct disadvantage.

2. STN LCD

The display principle of STN type is similar to TN, but the difference is that TN distorts the nematic effect of liquid crystal molecules and rotates the incident light 90 degrees, while STN superdistorts the nematic effect and rotates the incident light 180 ~ 270 degrees.

3.DSTN LCD display

DSTN can scan the twisted nematic LIQUID crystal display screen by double scanning. DSTN is developed from super twisted nematic display (STN). Because DSTN adopts double scan technology, the display effect in LCD display classification is greatly improved compared with STN.

IPS LCD screen

IPS is also known as wide Angle, commonly known as "super TFT". From a technical point of view, the liquid crystal molecules in traditional LIQUID crystal displays usually switch between vertical and horizontal states. MVA and PVA improved it into a vertical bidirectional tilting switch method. The biggest difference between IPS and these technologies is that the liquid crystal molecules are always parallel to the screen in any state, but they rotate in a different direction when they are powered on and when they are in normal state. The rotation of MVA and PVA liquid crystal molecules belongs to spatial rotation (z-axis), while the rotation of IPS liquid crystal molecules belongs to planar rotation (XY axis). IPS also has the disadvantage of slow response time. 16.7M color, 178 degree viewing Angle, 16ms response time, representing the highest level of IPS LCD display.
